WE WANT TO BRIDGE THE GENDER GAP IN STEM
Pronounced “She Sharp”, we are a not-for-profit networking group for high school girls, women in tertiary studies and industry professionals.
We aim to challenge misconceptions about the tech industry, encourage the next generation of women to enter STEM fields, and improve the gender balance in tech.
WE INSPIRE GIRLS TO PURSUE CAREERS IN TECH
We run events that promote STEM fields to high school girls and connect them with female role models in the industry.
Typically hosted by a tech-related company, the events involve keynote speakers who share their passion for science and technology, what brought them into the field, and the experiences, challenges and successes they have faced.
She# currently has over 700 active members in Auckland alone and this can only grow as we expand nationwide
HOW YOUR SUPPORT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
She# is a not-for-profit group, managed entirely by volunteers. All funding we receive goes directly towards the operational costs of She# and our events. Your support will enable us to cover the key costs of running our group, including catering, event promotion and website maintenance.
It will also support us with our ambition of establishing She# nationwide. We aspire to extend our platform to girls and women in other cities including Wellington and Christchurch, where there has already been significant interest from companies.
